Card-Jitsu

This page has three sections: How to play Card-Jitsu, How to earn Card-Jitsu belts and How to become a ninja.

How to Play Card-Jitsu

talk to senseiTo play Card-Jitsu talk to Sensei in the Dojo, he can be found sitting on the cushion on the right side of the room. Card-Jitzu is the only Mini Game in Club Penguin which you do not earn any coins for playing.  Instead you earn belts and work towards becoming a ninja. Sensei will give you a deck of Card-Jitsu cards that will look  similar to this:

cardjitsu deck

Instead of the power 10 water card, you may have a power 10 fire or snow card. To get different cards with different powers and special attributes, you can buy a deck of Club Penguin Card-Jitsu cards from Toys ‘R’ Us, but you can still become a ninja just as quickly without them.

When you are ready to play, talk to Sensei and click the first option:

earn belts

Sensei will pair you up with someone of similar rank and Card-Jitsu skills. When the game begins you will get a screen that looks something like this:

first-hand

You then have 20 seconds to select a card to play. There isn’t much strategy to picking your first card, but pick something with a number between three and six if you can.

9-1Fire beats Snow, Snow beats Water, Water beats Fire. If you both play the same type of card, the highest number wins unless someone has played a card with a value of 10 and the arrow symbol is shown. If the arrow symbol is shown and you both play the same type of card, the card of lowest value wins. You win the game by getting three cards of the same kind but different colours, or one of each type of card in different colours.

two-cardsAs soon as someone gets two cards, you can begin to effectively stragegise. If you have two cards that are the same you should try to get another of that card. If you have two cards that are different you should try to get the card you don’t have.

Attack Strategy: If your opponent has 2 cards the same, they will most likely try to get three of a kind, so your best attack move would be to use the card that beats whatever they have 2 of. If they have 2 cards that are different, they will most likely try to get three different cards, so your best attack move would be to use the card that beats the card they need to get.

How to Earn Card-Jitsu Belts

ninja progress cardsWhen you are in one of the Dojo rooms, you will be able to see how far away you are from your next belt by clicking on the three cards in the bottom right corner of your screen. You will see a belt metre that looks something like this:

cardjitsu beginning

To get to the next belt you will need to fill up the belt metre to 100%. belt percentsEvery time you play a game of Card-Jitsu your belt metre will go up, even if you lose that game. The more belts you earn, the more games you will need to play to get your next belt, as the percentage for a win or a loss goes down with each new belt earned. This table shows the percentages added to the belt bar for a win or loss on each belt, also you can see the minimum games required to play to get to the next belt.

If somebody exits a game whilst you are still playing, the same percent as if you lost that game will be added to your belt metre. Versing Sensei before you are a ninja, and practising on the Card-Jitsu mats in the Dojo will also add a small percentage to your belt bar.

How to Beat Sensei

To beat Sensei you need to be a black belt. Once you are black belt, talk to Sensei and select the second option:

challenge sensei

For the first three games or so, Sensei will beat every card you play. But after about three games he should start playing like a normal opponent and you will have a chance to beat him and to become a ninja.

ninja hideout doorWhen you are a ninja, Sensei will give you a ninja mask and you will have access to the Ninja Hideout room, located behind the carved stone door on the left of the Dojo Courtyard. In the Ninja Hideout you will be able to play Card-Jitsu with other ninjas, and if you are a member will have the option of buying itmes from the Martial Artworks catalog where the Ninja Outfit can be bought.

Happy Pippi: No Problem 😀

I’m so happy!! I just earned 3 belts in about 30 minutes, I’m a blue belt now.

Happy Pippi: Congratulations!

heyo!! 🙂 I hav trouble playing card-jitsu I have the cards in my inventory but when I challenge another player I cant use them, they dont even show up!!

Happy Pippi: Sometimes at the beginning of the game the cards take a while to load, but if you have unlocked cards that are not available to you to use during the game you should let Club Penguin know

It’s weird, sometimes I still get another belt if I lose the game…

Happy Pippi: That’s because your belt bar goes up whether you win or lose
